Hosted at The O2 in London, the Brit Awards 2020 takes place on February 18, with the red carpet kicking off at 7pm GMT and the award show itself at 8pm.

Everything you need to know about the Brit Awards 2020: Who’s hosting? Who will perform? Which artists are nominated?

There has been some controversy surrounding nominations for the Brit Awards 2020, with the list of nominees largely dominated by males in its unisex categories. Whilst seeing some diversity on 2019’s white-washed awards show, it still leaves female artists out in the cold with these artists scooping up just four nominations whilst the male artists take up 26.

At this point, though, when is there not some form of discrepancy when it comes to award shows? Do better, film and music boards alike.

Glaswegian crooner Lewis Capaldi is leading the charge with a total of four nominations, Dave and Stormzy follow close behind with three nominations each, including Male Solo Artist and Song of the Year. Harry Styles is also up for a handful of awards, alongside Mabel, as well as ‘Juice’ singer Lizzo and Billie Eilish, who will be gunning for International Female Solo Artist.

A night filled to the brim with talent, then, it’s sure to be a star-studded evening of iconic performances, with the 40th award show seeing the winner of its Brits Rising Star award (previously Brits Critic Choice), Celeste, giving a main show performance slot in what is being dubbed a Brit ‘first’.

Still, hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall for a third year in a row, we’re sure it’ll be an evening of laughs and excellent music performances.
